## Getting started

### What is Lyrics Library?

Lyrics Library is a mobile app for writing, searching, organizing, and performing song lyrics — with folders, setlists, chord annotation, transpose/capo, and stage-friendly reading.

### Is it free?

Yes. Download it from the [App Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/lyrics-library-songs/id6801164548) and [Google Play](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.lyricslibrary). **Personal use is free forever** — there are no ads and no paid unlocks for your own library, chords, setlists, stage view, or sync.

### Can I support the app?

Yes. In the app, open **Account → Support Developer**. You can leave a one-time tip or become a monthly supporter. Support is optional and does **not** unlock extra features. Cancel a monthly subscription anytime in your store subscription settings. Open **Account → Support history** to see verified tips and subscription events recorded for your account.

### What is Bands?

**Bands** is an optional add-on for groups (worship teams, gig bands, rehearsal crews). Create or join a shared song library and shared setlists. Free bands include up to three members. The paid Bands plan (bought by the band owner) unlocks unlimited members and **live follow**, so when the leader moves to the next song everyone else follows. If the subscription ends, the band becomes read-only — charts stay available to read and export.

Open **Account → Bands** in the app. Invite people with a link like `https://lyricslibrary.app/join/CODE`.

### Do I need an account?

You can start right away. The app may create an anonymous session so your library is tied to a secure user ID. Sign in with **Apple** or **Google** when you want a named account and easier recovery across devices.

## Your library and cloud backup

### Do my lyrics sync across devices?

Yes. Sign in with **Apple** or **Google** and your songs, folders, and setlists stay on your account. Open Lyrics Library on another phone or tablet with the same sign-in and the same library is there.

### Where is my data stored?

Your songs, folders, setlists, and synced settings are stored in **Google Firebase Firestore** in **Singapore** (`asia-southeast1`), under your user document. Only your signed-in account can read or write that data.

### What happens if I stay anonymous?

Anonymous mode still uses Firebase Authentication under the hood. Your library can sync, but if you clear app data or lose that anonymous session without linking Apple/Google, recovery may be difficult. Linking an account is the safest way to keep your library.

### Can I use Lyrics Library offline?

Yes for reading and editing on-device content the app has already loaded. Cloud sync needs a network connection. Exact offline behavior can vary by platform and cache state.

### How do I delete my data?

### Can I add chords on the lyrics?

Yes. Tap to place chords on the words, then transpose or set a capo for the gig.

### What is Stage / performance mode?

Stage-oriented reading keeps lyrics large and readable, with options like auto-scroll and keeping the screen on so you can focus on the room.

### What are folders?

Folders are the catalog. File songs where they belong — nested folders if the library grows — so worship, originals, and drafts do not share one scrolling pile. A setlist still lines up tonight; it can pull songs from any folder.

### What are setlists?

Setlists let you line up songs for a night in order — so you are not hunting folders between songs.

### Can I search lyrics online?

Yes. Search for a song, artist, or line and save results into your library. You are responsible for using copyrighted material lawfully (educational and personal use). See our [Terms of Use](/terms).
